General Meeting with presentation by Charles Sobczak

Please join the Peace River Audubon Society chapter at its general meeting on April 16, 2015 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Church on 1532 Forrest Blvd., in Port Charlotte. The public is invited. The speaker for the evening will be Charles Sobczak.  Mr Sobczak lives and writes on Sanibel Island, Florida.  He is the award-winning author of eight books, including four novels, a memoir and three non-fiction titles.  His first book, a novel titled Six Mornings on Sanibel is currently in its seventh printing.  His latest non-fiction work, The Living Gulf Coast – A Nature Guide to Southwest Florida won the Gold Medal Award for the best work of adult Florida non-fiction, 2011, from the Florida Publisher’s Association and was recently featured on C-Span’s Book TV.  His presentation is based on three non-fiction titles and his latest cli-fi novel about climate change called The Year of the Bad Decision. The presentation is called Florida’s Wildlife – Past, Present & Future. His presentation will cover our Paleo-Indian impact on the Sunshine State through the upcoming challenges of climate change.
