Ron Mills led the first Audubon field trip for the season. It was a night walkabout on October 3. Due to road conditions at Prairie Creek Preserve, the venue was changed to Hathaway Park. Nine attended to brave the intermittent showers and windy conditions. Before the evening was over, we were able to call one barred owl in that perched close to the shelterhouse. He provided the group a great opportunity to both hear and see him as he called back to us. The almost-full moon came out at the same time to end an enjoyable evening. The attendees gave glowing reports on the trip.
