About the event

The 35th Anniversary Celebration will start with the planting of a memorial Laurel Oak tree for Betty Pennington.  Her story and the naming of the park will be presented. Everyone is invited to enjoy the park. Peace River Audubon maintains the trails and generally manages the park under an agreement with Charlotte County. Our local chapter volunteers meet every Wednesday to spruce up the park, plant native plants for birds and butterflies, eradicate invasive plants and preserve the natural habitat.
