About the event

Peace River Audubon was one of four organizations that founded the Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center in 1987 and has continued the collaboration ever since the beginning. PRAS sponsors CHEC's Bird Blind and Camp Scholarships.

Bren did a presentation on the CBC at CHEC in December and Ashley is going to present a demonstration on an ecological oyster filtering system at the February PRAS monthly meeting. Doors will open at 6:30 with refreshments and the presentation will start at 7 PM.

Ashley will show us how to build a vertical oyster garden, a simple, yet powerful way to improve the water quality in Charlotte Harbor. You may be invited to make an oyster string for your personal boat dock. Oysters, a keystone species, can filter up to 50 gallons of water per day according to CHEC.
