About the event
Field Trip to Curry Creek, an 80-acre preserve with trails and a paddle boat launch.
Named after a family of early pioneer settlers to the area, the preserve was purchased in 2002 through the Environmentally Sensitive Lands Protection Program (ESLPP). Habitats include mangrove forests, tidal marshes & flatwoods. A rare Pond apple tree can be found upstream along the creek. Wildlife inhabitants include tortoises, alligators, river otters, eastern indigo snakes and wading birds "such as the Roseate Spoonbill and Wood Stork.

The Last Dunson Field trip of the season will be on April 11 at the Myakka State Forest
2555 South River Road (Hwy 777) Englewood. There is a$2 Myakka fee online.
