About the event
Mary Lundeberg connects people to nature through her conservation photography. Her presentation will focus on shorebirds. Mary’s photographs have been exhibited in juried art galleries in several states and published in books, magazines, calendars, and newspapers. She has won awards from state, national and international associations. After retiring from her professor and department chair career from Michigan State University, she moved to the Englewood/Venice area and became a Florida Master Naturalist. She writes nature books for children and adults, and authors a column called “Noticing Nature.” She has published over 80 articles and seven nature books. She created and co-managed a Stump Park Beach State Park bird steward program to protect Wilson’s Plovers and Least Terns. Mary is on the board of the Peace Myakka Waterkeeper, and volunteers on the Great Lakes Piping Plover Recovery Team.
