PRAS Christmas Bird Count

Peace River Audubon is looking for volunteers for the 2025 Christmas Bird Count on Saturday, December 20th. You don't have to be expert birders because the more eyes in the sky means more chances to sight birds! Beginning birders can accompany some of our more experienced birders. Join the fun and feel the pleasure of knowing you are doing your part to help Birds! This is the 126th Count. Last year there were 2,693 circles like the one below where 83+ thousand local citizen scientists counted bird species in America. It is the longest Citizen Science Project on record.

Our chapter needs some boat owners to partner their boats (and driver) for a few hours in the morning. We have some expert birders who can accompany the boaters for the bird count so if you own a boat along the harbor shoreline, please email praspresident@gmail.com.
