Saturday Walkabouts with Rob

Rob Mills will led a nature walk on a wonderfully shady 3/4 mile trail through an oak hammock, pine flatwoods and a cypress swamp. He will give a colorful brief history of the park and point out the wildlife and native plants along the way. Visitors describe the beautiful park as the hidden gem of Port Charlotte! Local visitor guides claim that it is one of the best quiet urban parks in the state! Florida Weekly newspaper recommends the park in its New Comers Guide.

Audubon Pennington Park is a 7.9 acre urban park with a few scattered benches but lacks restrooms. Peace River Audubon Society has a volunteer crew that you can join to maintain the trails and signs on Wednesdays. Just show up at the park at 8 AM on Wednesday mornings.
