Audubon Earth Day Hike – Saturday, Apr. 27, 2019

Peace River Audubon Society will be holding an Earth Day hike on Saturday, April 27, at 8:00 AM.  This year’s Earth Day theme is “Protect Our Species”.  Participants should meet at Deep Creek Preserve at 10797 SW Peace River Street, Arcadia.  Property located off Kings Highway (CR 769) and Peace River Street heading to the Navigator Restaurant.  Deep Creek Preserve is a 2000 acre property managed by Southwest Florida Water Management District.

Florida Master Naturalist, Jamie Reynolds, will be leading the group along easy wide trails of pine flatwoods, oak scrub and under ancient moss draped oaks.

Participants are encouraged to pack a lunch to enjoy in the picnic area under the large oaks following the hike.  If a cooking fire is allowed, there will be hot dogs served at 4:00.  Bring your chair, binoculars, and stories to share as we celebrate Earth Day 2019.  All Welcome.
