Please join the Peace River Audubon Society for our General Meeting on November 17 at First Alliance Church located at 20444 Midway Blvd. in Port Charlotte. Our speaker will be Kate Borduas, with a fun presentation, “So you Think You Know Pelicans”. The doors open at 6:15 PM for a chance to socialize followed by the meeting that starts at 7:00 PM. Our meetings are free and open to the public. Join us!
Kate is a self-described “Adult-onset” Naturalist. A transplant from coastal Maine, she is trained as a Florida Master Naturalist and as a nationally Certified Interpretive Guide. Following a life-long, long-distance love affair with nature, Kate is delighted to be living the life of a naturalist full time. Kate gives frequent walks and talks in Charlotte and Sarasota Counties with a specific focus on Scrub Habitat and the Endangered Florida Scrub Jay. As a naturalist and guide, Kate is committed to sharing with others the hidden wonders of nature all around us.
Kate was the recipient of Sarasota County Parks “Volunteer of the Year” award in 2018. She is the President of SunCoast Friends of Florida Master Naturalists.
Along with the program will be PRAS announcements…hear all about our online photo contest from Nov. 1 – Dec 10, and our November walks and field trips.
