October Field Trip Report – Prairie Creek Preserve

October’s Self-Directed birding activity at Prairie Creek Preserve was quite successful, with 14 participants, 8 reports and 79 species reported. This beat our September’s results of 12 participants seeing a total of 39 species.

We were blessed with very nice weather, passable roads, and a fine variety of birds. We even had some nice animals: 5 deer, 2 armadillos, and 5 horses with their cowboy riders.

We were pleased to have new member Edwin Wilke join us. Edwin is an 18-year-old CLI mentee and award-winning photographer, and he submitted his own list of sightings. Welcome, Edwin.

We are looking forward to November’s activity, and hope to have even more participants. We have some good suggestions to consider for November but additional suggestions are always welcome. Please send to Ron and Char Crob80517@aol.com.
