The Peace River Audubon Society (PRAS) organizes and conducts a series of walkabouts, field trips, and general membership meetings annually to educate and to foster appreciation and conservation of our avian and natural resources. We partner with Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center (CHEC) in rehabilitating and maintaining an outdoor bird blind at their Alligator Creek Facility in Punta Gorda. We offer two $1000 scholarships to junior or senior college students pursuing a career in environmental sciences annually. We work with local elementary schools with birding projects.
