PRAS Meeting February 21, 2019 – presentation by Kellie Phillips and Hunter Folmar

Peace River Audubon Society meeting Thursday February 21, 2019

February’s meeting will feature a presentation on Red-cockaded Woodpecker Management on Fred C. Babcock/Cecil M. Webb WMA and Babcock Ranch Preserve: Past, Present, and Future. by Kellie Phillips and Hunter Folmar.

Kellie is from northeast Georgia and attended the University of Georgia. She worked with Northern Bobwhite quail and Lesser Prairie-chickens before coming to Babcock/Webb in December of 2015 to be the Red-cockaded Woodpecker biologist.

Hunter Folmar is originally from Texas, He is the new Red-cockaded Woodpecker biologist at Babcock Ranch Preserve and has been working with the species for several years. In addition to RCW work, he has helped on projects with Greater Prairie-Chickens, White-crowned Pigeons, and small mammals.
