Thanking Our 2018 Giving Challenge Participants

Peace River Audubon Society would like to thank everyone who donated to our organization during the 2018 Giving Challenge. Because of your generous commitment, PRAS will be able to continue our work supporting environmental education and conservation here in our local community. The 2018 Giving Challenge was presented by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County with giving strengthened by The Patterson Foundation.

PRAS organizes and conducts a series of walkabouts, field trips, and general membership meetings annually to educate and to foster appreciation and conservation of our avian and natural resources. We partner with Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center (CHEC) in rehabilitating and maintaining an outdoor bird blind at their Alligator Creek Facility in Punta Gorda. We offer two $1000 scholarships to junior or senior college students pursuing a career in environmental sciences annually. We work with local elementary schools with birding projects. We fund a number of student campers at CHEC summer camp program.
