Everyone is invited to our PRAS meeting with speaker Paul Gray Phd Science Coordinator for Audubon Florida's Everglades Restoration Program will enlighten us on Lake Okeechobee Ecology and the status of Restoration. The Florida Wildlife Federation named Paul Gray, PhD, their “Environmental Steward of the Year” for 2021. As Everglades Science Coordinator, Gray provides science support for Audubon policy teams on issues ranging from water quality, water management, agricultural best management practices, and ecosystem and bird conservation issues. Paul Gray conducted his University of Florida graduate school research with ranches and dairy farms in Okeechobee before working for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and then Audubon Florida. He began his career with Audubon Florida as manager of the 7,300-acre Kissimmee Prairie Sanctuary. He is a charter member of the Florida Grasshopper Sparrow Working Group and co-chair of the Snail Kite Coordinating Committee. Paul's educational background includes a BS from the University of Missouri, an MS from Texas Tech University, and a Ph. D. from the University of Florida. Refreshments will be served.
