Peace River Audubon Society invites you to join our Field Trip on February 17th to Crowley Museum and Nature Center 16405 Myakka (Hancock) Road, Sarasota at 8am. Early birders can gather at the Myakka River Bridge just past the Museum entrance at 7am to view the flocks of wetland birds with our scopes. At 8 am our group will drive back to the entrance where Sharon Wilcox will guide us through the trails for birds and native wildlife in addition to the farm animals.
We saw 70 species last year.
There is a $6 entrance fee.
After the guided walk you can experience Old Florida by immersing yourself in pioneer history with artifacts in a self-guided exploration of the museum, pioneer cabin, Tatum House, blacksmith shop, working sugar cane mill and more. To extend your day, you can gather at Cooper’s Hawk Winery (where Fruitville meets Interstate 75) to enjoy their lunch menu!
