Bird Blind Volunteers Needed

WE NEED A FEW GOOD PEOPLE

Hi everyone,

I’m writing as head of the Bird Blind Committee of PRAS. For the past several years, we have partnered with the Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center (CHEC) in maintaining a bird blind on their Alligator Creek property off of Burnt Store Road. We meet on the second Wednesday of the month from October till May from 10:30 AM till noon – the blind is closed during the rainy season. We maintain the property, restore and refill the feeders, and tidy up the blind itself. It’s an interesting job keeping the raccoons and squirrels from pillaging the feeders! So far, we’ve been able to stay one step ahead of them, but it’s a continuing saga!

Election of Officers and Board of Directors

To all members of Peace River Audubon Society, due to the Covid 19 pandemic, we have not been able to hold annual election of officers and board members in our annual May membership meeting. After board discussion and review of our bylaws, we have decided to proceed via email. Attached below is a current list of PRAS Officers and Board Directors for the 2020 – 2021 year.  If there are any additional Officer or Director nominees from the membership, please notify me in the next 14 days. If there are no additional member nominees, then the positions are uncontested, and the nominees are elected, thus effecting the election by unanimous consent or ‘acclimation’.
