November 19 Field Trip to Celery Fields with Bren Curtis

Peace River Audubon rescheduled the November Field Trip location on November 19th due to the Hurricane Damage to Crowley Museum.  Hopefully a new time in 2023 will be found for the Crowley Field Trip.  The new location is Celery Fields led by Bren Curtis.  Birders may form their own carpools by meeting at the North location parking lot near Walmart and Culvers at 385 Kings Hwy at 7am.  The walk will start at 6799 Palmer Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34240 at 8 am but early birders may gather at Ackerman Park, 400 Apex Rd around 7:30 before driving to the main parking lot.

52 species were seen on October 25th at Celery Fields including Blue-winged Teal, Sora, Common and Purple Gallinule, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Wilson’s Snipe, Greater Yellow Legs, Sandhill Crane, Forster’s Tern and Northern Harrier.  Hope to see you there! Don’t forget sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, binoculars, water and a snack. Some may want to gather for brunch afterwards at Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant 3130 Fruitville Commons Blvd. All PRAS events are free and open to the public.
