On Tuesday March 1st at 4 pm, Peace River Audubon Society invites you to join us for a fun bird watching walkabout at the History Park in Punta Gorda at 501 Shreve Street. The bird species count at this park is up to 72. Although the eagle nest is no longer there, the eagles are still seen every day.
Other birds we hope to see include the Yellow-throated Warbler, Palm Warbler, Yellow-rumped Warbler, catbird, cardinal, blue jay, Red-shouldered Hawk, Red-bellied Woodpecker, and Blue-gray Gnatcatcher.
After birding History Park we will go to the Ponce de Leon Park for waterbird sightings including ospreys, herons, egrets, terns and pelicans.
In the past we stayed to watch the sunset and take photos. Everyone is welcome to join us for that too!
