Get ready for a kayak trip from the Navigator Grill to explore remote areas of the Peace River. This trip is intended to be easy paddling and fun. This is a guided trip with Steve Burroughs of Kayak Eco Tours. It is free if you bring your own kayak, or you can rent equipment for $30 per person. We will paddle from 9 to 11AM. Please meet up at 8:30 AM, 30 minutes prior to our departure. We hope to see Osprey, Herons, Egrets, Wood Storks, and possibly Roseate Spoonbills. We could spot alligators or even a manatee!

If you plan to book your kayak ahead of time, reserve your equipment by calling Steve at 813-857-4634. You can book online on their website at www.KayakEcoTours.com. Please bring cash if you plan to pay when you get to the Navigator Grill. The Navigator Grill is located at 9700 SW River View Circle, Arcadia (via Kings Hwy).

If you’re hungry, plan to enjoy lunch afterwards at the Navigator Grill. We all sat together after our fall kayak trip. It’s time to enjoy the outdoors! Hope you’ll join us.

Any questions? Call Field Trip Chair, Rob Mills, at 305-607-6548 or Steve at Kayak Eco tours at 813-857-4634.

presentation

Did you miss the fabulous presentation by Eva Furner on February 17th? Don’t worry…you can still watch it by following this link. The link is to the recorded ZOOM meeting on ‘Habitat Restoration at Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve’. The link will be valid until 3/23/22, and then will be deleted from the cloud. I believe it can be downloaded to your personal device if you wish to save it. If you plan on attending our Feb. 26 guided walk at Lemon Bay Wildflower Preserve, this zoom presentation is a must.

Enjoy, Mike Krzyzkowski Program Chair, Peace River Audubon Society

Join Peace River Audubon for a walk at Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve on February 26, 2022. Meet at 8:00 AM in the main parking lot at 3120 Gasparilla Pines Blvd. Englewood, FL. Eva will describe the recently completed preserve restoration project, and some exciting plans for the future of the preserve. There will be a variety of habitats to explore and birds and animals to see. Bring your camera and your binoculars! The hike will sometimes be on uneven trails. Water, a hat, sunscreen, bug spray and hiking shoes are recommended. Responding to visitor requests, a portable toilet is now available at the preserve parking lot.

Please call PRAS field trip chair, Rob Mills, at 305-607-6548 with any questions. This walk is free and open to the public. Hope you will join us!
