Wrap Up of the Saturday 17 March 2018 Babcock-Webb field trip

The arrival of the Red-cockaded Woodpecker kept the eager birders waiting, until the sun came up. They hung around for a while, to our delight, so everyone could enjoy seeing them. We continued to travel around the Pine Flatwoods looking and seeing Eastern Towhees, Meadow Larks and a Brown Thrasher. Two Sandhill Cranes were seen walking in the open with their two colts (babies).  Later we found a hardwood tree with a Parula, Black and White, Pine, Palm and Yellow-rumped Warblers feeding.

It turned out to be a nice day for a trip to Babcock-Webb Wildlife Management Area.
